We arrive in Baltimore a day early and spent some time wandering around the area near our hotel. This was shot from the ship.

A typical view from the balcony, we had 5 days of something like this before reaching Greenland waters.

Our first Iceberg I'm naming it E pluribus unum (out of one, many, I prefer One of many). For the photogs this was shot on 7DII with a 400mm lens and cropped. (This means through camera trickery this looks a lot closer than it actually was.)

We picked up the last room available and it turned out to be a Balcony Suite. We don't always do suites, but we do get balconies on a regular basis. The point of this photo is the fact you can't see out the windows because of the fog.

Although there were some foggy days there were some cool sunsets

Foggy sunsets

As we neared Greenland this is about all we saw for several days. Which is why we never set foot on our first 3 ports, Nanortalik, Qaqortoq Greenland and St. Anthony Newfoundland. The fact that we missed all of these ports means we will most likely go again on a later date.

We found a duck; it was behind this placard. On some cruise lines the passengers bring ducks aboard and hide them around the ship for other passengers to find. Some have tags so you can report where you found it before you hide it again if you so wish to do.

Since the man in the white suit and bars on his shoulders along with the 2 pilots that came on board to navigate Greenland waters determined it was unsafe to port at Greenland, why are there passengers pissed. I can read a map and navigate my car to just abut anyware on the roads but out here whatever they say goes. I see this floating out there and I think Titanic, do I want to be in the water with a life vest or sleeping in a warm bed.

Cruise bonus, since we could not port Greenland, we were treated to a cruise down the Arsuk Fjord. I am truly struggling with this image, I really want to use it but.....

The abandoned cryolite mining town. Like any other mineral it had a million uses in its day, too many for me to list here.

We were told this was an active military base, naval I would assume. in my limited research the base may be part of the Danish Navy Greenland Command. Just for grins I looked up the pt572 and there was one under that registration commissioned in Jan. 1945, decommissioned in May 1946 and sold whereabouts unknown...could this be it, probably not. But it does look like a pt boat.

After leaving the Arsuk Fjord that night sky caught fire I had to go up a floor and battle a ferocious wind for this shot as there were so many people photographing the sky. Those who know won't believe who else came up for the shoot... (next page)

Thats right, the wife it was that amazing.

A deck down it was really nice, we even stayed for the movie. After 3 Long Island Ice Teas I really enjoyed Dirty Dancing.

I am a sucker for a lighthouses.

I think we are still in the Bay of Islands about to enter Humber Arm enroute to Corner Brook NL.

We were told that snow used to be higher than the top of the snow clearing blade back in the day.

She is so ready to get off in Sidney Nova Scotia. Wait for me!

Took a bus tour of the Cabot Trail

So exciting.

The "Big Fiddle" is a 60-foot fiddle at the cruise pavilion. It's a tribute to the folk music and traditions of the Celtic community.
